PRESS RELEASE - 3 July 2009
Housebuilding report to show strong recovery within five years
Market Insights, a new report on the housebuilding industry will show a complete reversal of the current market within three to five years. A long-term picture of sustained excess demand and shortage of supply is forecast to emerge despite the downturn. Produced by construction market intelligence specialist HobsonFord Associates in association with Barbour ABI, who supply UK construction contract data, Market Insights includes an in-depth analysis of the private and social new build markets accompanied by key client, contractor and project data.
David Andrew, Director of Barbour ABI comments: "HobsonFord are well-known for their comprehensive independent market intelligence and accurate trend forecasts and their latest report has significant implications for housing. We are delighted to be working with them."

Glen Ford of HobsonFord Associates explains: "The recession almost paralysed the industry at the end of 2008 but it has not affected the fundamental factors that influence demand. The report forecasts future activity over the coming months and years and summarises key opportunities and issues for senior executives."
The full Market Insights report is based on published data on the housebuilding industry and discussions with a number of industry contacts and will be produced four times a year, in July, October, January and April.
The Market Insights report will be launched at the British Precast Concrete Federation Market Prospects Seminar on 14th July at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel in Leicester.
